History & Milestones
1996 – Creation of Suckfizzle single vineyard wines (first vintage 1997)
1997 – First Suckfizzle Sauvignon Blanc Semillon vintage, inspired by Domaine de Chevalier and the 15th-century book Gargantua and Pantagruel
1998 – Suckfizzle debut faced criticism due to its unconventional branding, yet eventually gained overwhelming popularity and acclaim
1999 – Suckfizzle and Isca vineyards merged to create Stella Bella Wines; brand and label designed by Braincells Design Agency
2000 – Release of Stella Bella Pink Moscato, one of the first of its style in Australia, crafted from Muscat Rose à Petits Grains and inspired by Italian traditions
2001 – First Stella Bella Chardonnay and Sangiovese Cabernet vintages
2002 – Debut of Stella Bella Sangiovese Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay
2003 – Introduction of the Skuttlebutt range
2004 – Stella Bella Wines merged with Rosa Brook Wines; purchase of Darch Road vineyard (east of Margaret River) and a state-of-the-art 1,200 tonne winery facility
2007 – First vintage of the Serie Luminosa, a premium range produced only in exceptional vintages from Margaret River’s top vineyards
2009 – Opening of Stella Bella cellar door on Darch vineyard
2013 – Luke Joliffe appointed Senior Winemaker
2016 – 20th vintage; 3 trophies won and success at Halliday Chardonnay and Cabernet Challenge, with two wines scoring 94+ points from James Halliday
2017 – Rebranding of Stella Bella, Luminosa, and Suckfizzle; dominance at Margaret River Wine Awards; introduction of Stella Bella Otro Vino collection

Stella Bella was born from a belief in Margaret River’s unique and expressive terroir. The founders acquired the southernmost Suckfizzle vineyard, leveraging its distinctive climate and soils to produce wines of exceptional character.
