Rippa Wines (Colonial Trade Co.Ltd) is a boutique wine importer based in Tokyo, originally focused on high-quality Australian and New Zealand wines. We are now expanding our portfolio to include exceptional producers from across the globe.

Our latest addition is Anthonij Rupert, a celebrated winery from South Africa, further emphasising our commitment to curating distinctive, world-class wines. We also will launch Edouard Duval from Champagne family Duval-Leroy, Edouard inherited the Domaine Sainte-Eulalie in 2000; the estate was originally acquired by his grandfather, Charles Roger Duval, in the 1950s. The vineyard is a monopole of 28 hectares (i.e. one contiguous estate) located in Bligny, in the Côte des Bar region of Champagne

Our mission is to connect Japanese wine lovers with unique, character-driven wines made by passionate, often young winemakers working with old vines and rare varietals. We import from sustainable, organic and biodynamic producers wherever possible.

 

About the Founder

Andrew Heffernan | Founder & Director

Andrew grew up in Australia’s Yarra Valley, spending summers in Somers on the Mornington Peninsula. While I’ve always had a city mindset, my roots run deep in regional culture—my family has a long history in butchery、logging and travel. That passion for Travel, food and drink eventually brought me to Tokyo, where I founded Colonial Trade Co.LTD in 2013.
