Meet the Producer
Juniper Estate is a premium wine producer in Wilyabrup, the heart of the Margaret River wine region, located in the environmentally pristine southwest corner of Australia. The vineyard was established when there were only a few other producers in the area, including Vasse Felix, Cape Mentelle, Cullen, Moss Wood, and Woodlands.
The estate was founded in 1998 by Roger Hill and his wife Gillian Anderson with the goal of producing wines true to the Wilyabrup region style, showing depth, finesse, and elegance, with careful use of oak to enhance complexity. Since 2017, their sons Nick and Tom have joined the family business, continuing the tradition of crafting high-quality wines from their own vineyards.
Winemaking
Juniper Estate’s winemaking philosophy emphasizes respect for the history of the region and minimal intervention. Each vineyard block is managed individually to preserve the unique character of the fruit. Manual vineyard work and attentive, careful winemaking techniques allow the natural personality of each parcel to shine. Oak maturation is used to enhance complexity and refine the wines.
Philosophy
Juniper Estate combines heritage, authenticity, and original thinking to create elegant and sophisticated wines that reflect the best of Margaret River. All grapes are grown and vinified on-site in Wilyabrup and Karridale. Sustainable and organic practices are central to vineyard management, including composting, sheep manure application, and inter-row plantings to maintain soil fertility. The wines reflect the land, vintage, and variety, crafted to be enjoyed in good company.

Juniper’s estate vineyard, planted in 1973, is one of the founding vineyards of the region.
