Cherubino Wines
Frankland River, Great Southern, Western Australia
Heritage & Origins
Cherubino’s story is deeply rooted in Western Australia’s history. Co-founder Edwina Cherubino is a fourth-generation West Australian, whose Egerton-Warburton ancestors settled in Frankland River in the mid-1800s and planted the region’s first vines in 1875. The Cherubino family’s Italian heritage adds another layer, with winemaking traditions passed down through generations in Siderno, Italy.
The dream of Cherubino began in 2004, when Edwina and Larry Cherubino purchased a small parcel in Frankland River, part of the historic Riversdale estate. Over time, acquisitions of neighboring prime vineyard land expanded their vision, cementing Frankland River as the soul of Cherubino.
Winemaking Journey
Larry Cherubino, a first-generation Australian, has long been immersed in winemaking. From roles as head winemaker at Houghton to international consulting in New Zealand, USA, France, Italy, and South Africa, his experience shaped the philosophy of Cherubino: family-inspired winemaking with global expertise.
Cherubino now operates across Western Australia’s premier regions, including the Great Southern, Pemberton, and Margaret River, crafting wines that reflect the unique terroir of each site.
Vision & Sustainability
Looking ahead, Cherubino is committed to innovation, sustainability, and vineyard longevity. Their focus includes introducing new clonal plantings and managing vineyards to leave a lasting legacy. Cherubino wines are a tribute to the past, a celebration of the present, and a foundation for the future of Western Australian winemaking.
