About This Wine
Sourced from the limestone-rich soils of the Crayères Vineyard in Wrattonbully, this blend captures the structure of Cabernet Sauvignon, the spice and plushness of Shiraz, and a subtle lift from a dash of Cabernet Franc. The cool climate and meticulous vineyard management deliver a wine built for both structure and longevity.
Tasting Notes
Deep red with a purple tint. The bouquet opens with walnut-scented oak, dry spice, and savoury, non-fruity tones, revealing hints of angelica and gentle florals. The palate is very full-bodied and tightly wound, with firm, powdery tannins and a strong grip that speaks to its ageing potential. Linear and compact in style, it offers length and focus rather than immediate opulence, promising complexity with cellaring.
Accolades
93 Points – Huon Hooke: “Very full-bodied and firm, with loads of tannin and a vise-like grip. A sumptuous red that will certainly reward long-term keeping.”
91 Points – Huon Hooke (additional review): “Tight and firmly composed, with tension and compactness. The tannins are firm and tightly coiled. A keeper.”
