Though Mac Forbes has long worked with Italian varieties in the Yarra, this is his first Dolcetto—fittingly released under the EB (Experimental Batch) label. Bursting with juicy purple and blue fruits, this medium-plus bodied red stays lively thanks to its bright acidity. Hints of rose, delicate violet, and fine black pepper add aromatic complexity, while firm, finely grained tannins give structure. The finish lingers with perfumed, herbal-toned cassis.

This fresh yet structured take on the charming northern Italian grape is both approachable and intriguing. Produced naturally with less than 30 mg/L of added sulfites.
