Vintage Summary

2021 was an exceptional year in Barossa. A wet spring provided ideal growing conditions, yields rebounded after two low-harvest years, and summer remained mild with no heat spikes. An extended, gentle Indian summer allowed grapes to reach full ripeness without climate pressure, producing wines of both power and poise.

Tasting Notes

A rich and opulent Shiraz with an earthy, expansive mid-palate framed by streamlined, velvety tannins. Aromas and flavours unfold in layers: iodine, roasted meat crust, licorice/anise, dark chocolate, clove, blackberry jam, and a hint of pine needle on the finish. The wine is both polished and powerful, with warming alcohol that enhances but does not dry the fruit. A luxurious expression of Clos Otto in one of the best Barossa vintages of the decade.
