The Wine Advocate RP 94, Erin Larkin Drink Date: 2022 - 2037

The nose on this 2021 Shiraz Mataro is about as irresistible as the color is luminescent. It has aromas of cocoa-dusted raspberries, warm summer mulberries, star anise, red licorice and pink peppercorns. In the mouth, the wine is supple and spicy, and the tannins eddy and swirl about—plump and cushioning of the fruit. This is generous without billowing, and it's plush without being soft. There is plenty of structural integrity here, and even more fruit pleasure. It's the tannins that make it truly great. Published: Sep 16, 2022

TASTING NOTES :

A blend of organically grown estate Mataro and Aberfeldy Vineyard Shiraz (planted in 1904). The nose is irresistibly fragrant with cocoa-dusted raspberries, mulberries, star anise, red licorice, and pink peppercorns. On the palate, it’s supple and spicy, with vibrant layers of blackberries, blueberries, red plums, and a touch of chocolate. Plush yet structured, with swirling, cushiony tannins. A deeply flavorful and impressive release with excellent aging potential.
